Philipp Brämswig is a highly active and sought-after member of the vital Cologne and German jazz scene. Besides leading the „Philipp Brämswig Trio“ and the „Mengamo Trio“ he is among others member of the following bands: „Subway Jazz Orchestra“‚ „Soulcrane“, „Luciel“, „Kiki Manders“, „Jonas Sorgenfrei 4tett“, „Vagabond souls“ and more
Concerts and tours led him to South Korea, Belgium, Denmark, China, Albany, Bulgary, France, Poland, Romania, the Netherlands, Moldovia, Austria and Switzerland. He participated in numerous radio-, TV- and theaterproductions in Germany as well as the Netherlands and performed with a.o. the WDR Big Band, Maria Schneider, Terri Lyne Carrington, Jim Black, Heavytones, Seamus Blake, HR Big Band, Charlie Mariano, Bob Mintzer, Tony Lakatos, Richie Beirach, Xatar, John Goldsby, Marshall Gilkes, Billy Test, Benjamin Herman, Guillermo Klein, Candy Dulfer, Marc Ferber, Warren Vache, Paul Heller, Jesse van Ruller, Caro Emerald, Pete Philly & Perquisite a.m.m.
Philipp played on numerous international jazz festivals: „Hong Kong Jazz Festival“, „North Sea Jazz Festival“, „Montreux Jazz Festival“, “Jazz Baltica”, “Theaterhaus Jazztage Stuttgart”, “Zhuhai Beishan International Jazz Festival”, “8 Brücken Festival”, “Chisinau Jazzfestival”, „Bukarest Jazz Festival“, „The Hague Jazz“, “Belgrad Jazz Festival”, „Cologne Jazzweek“, „Breda Jazz Festival“, „Cologne Winter Jazz Festival“, „Ostsee Jazzfestival“, “Cologne Open”, “Uitmarkt”, „Jazz and joy Worms“, „Jazz ahead“, “Nancy Jazz Pulsations” and many more.

During his master-studies at the Conservatory of Amsterdam he was awarded the ‚Top Talent’-scholarship of the Dutch conservatoria, which allowed him a study period in New York City, where Wayne Krantz, Ben Monder and Chris Crocco were among his mentors.
Philipp has held teaching assignments for the Institut für Musik der Hochschule Osnabrück and the Maastricht Conservatory. In 2025 he became the professor for jazz guitar at Musikhochschule Nürnberg.
In his youth, Philipp succesfully took part in several competitions as a soloist and ensemblemember (‘Jugend musiziert’, ’Jugend jazzt’, ’Jazz over Hannover’, Biberacher Jazzpreis, Amersfoort Jazz Concours). He was a member of the Youth Jazz Orchestra of Lower Saxonia as well as the German Federal Jazz Orchestra ’BuJazzO’ conducted by the renowned Peter Herbolzheimer.
In 2017 he and his trio were finalists of „Neuer Deutscher Jazzpreis“ (New German Jazz award).
